David Tolin joined Westlake High School in the Fall of 2010. He grew up in Casper, Wyoming where he was very active in his high school technical theatre program.
Mr. Tolin attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Design/Technology. While he was an undergraduate, he worked in the Theatre Department’s scene shop and built over 30 productions. In 2006, he was selected to be an intern at Cirque du Soleil’s resident show Mystère at Treasure Island. In 2007, Mr. Tolin worked for Fisher Technical Services, Inc which is leading supplier of mechanical automation for theatre, film, and themed attractions all over the world. He also worked for Desert Entertainment as a stagehand on many large scale concerts, productions and events in venues large and small across the Las Vegas area.
In 2007, Mr. Tolin moved to Austin to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Technology. As a graduate student, he served as Technical Director on many Department of Theatre and Dance productions; the most recent being Pride and Prejudice. He also taught introductory stagecraft courses and served as a teaching assistant in the Texas Performing Arts Scenic Studio. Mr. Tolin received his Master’s Degree in May of 2010.
