Emily Wright is the first female head pastor since the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church began as the Eanes Chapel, built by Westlake’s founding father, Robert Eanes, circa 1872. Emily, her husband and three sons, moved from suburban Atlanta, where she served the 2,600 members of Roswell Presbyterian Church as the senior associate pastor, and in other capacities, for 16 years.
Wright grew up in the Los Angeles and Tampa, Fla., areas, and graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Houston, where she was on the volleyball team. She received her master of divinity degree from Emory University and is working on a doctor of ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary.
