Diane is a passionate community builder and service-minded leader who enjoys connecting with others to solve problems and make a difference.
Having been born and raised in Maryland, Diane moved to Austin, Texas as quickly as she could after a four-year stint in chilly Boston to study Chemical Engineering at MIT. She first moved to Austin in 1993 for a graduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin. After completing her Master’s thesis, she remained in Austin and worked in the medical device field for 5 years before relocating to California briefly to complete an MBA at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford.
Desperately missing Austin, Diane returned in 2004, settling in Eanes ISD. She decided to focus on raising her three children full-time and has spent many years as an actively engaged parent within the Eanes-Westlake community. In addition to serving in countless school-related positions, she has also enjoyed other roles such as leading her daughter’s girl scout troop, participating as a non-profit liaison with the Young Men’s Service League, and chairing the Westlake Relay For Life, an American Cancer Society community event and fundraiser.
Most recently, Diane completed a Masters of Public Affairs at the UT LBJ School. With her degree fresh off the press in December 2022, she officially launched her campaign for a place on the EISD Board of Trustees, an undertaking she has contemplated for several years.
When not busy volunteering, Diane loves to travel, particularly by car. She has logged many thousands of miles over the past several decades while traveling across the US with her family. Diane is also a longtime runner and novice rower and simply loves the outdoors, even when it is 100 degrees. She is often seen strolling her neighborhood with her two dogs, a very large and stubborn Great Pyrenees named Clara Bell and an extremely loyal and loving cattle dog named Harry.
