Weekly Meeting: David Wilson

The Westlake Fire Department has a Mission to preserve life and property by providing community risk reduction and emergency response that exceeds the expectations of the community. Chief David Wilson has over 25 years of service with the Westlake Fire Department serving as a firefighter, Lieutenant, Battalion Chief, Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Chief. The organization of 50 personnel are committed to service to provide emergency response that is dependable and compassionate, addresses the fire safety needs of residents and the business community, and delivers safety education to our youth through scouts and Eanes ISD. Chief Wilson grew up in the Westlake area, attending Eanes ISD and graduating from Westlake High School and understands some of the unique challenges the Westlake community can face. One of those challenges is the wildfire risk in the Westlake area and the devastation that a wildfire event can cause. Chief Wilson is an advocate for individual preparation and planning, coordination among local agencies, training on suppression efforts, and the utilization of the community to assist in preparing our neighborhoods.
