Treats for a Cause

World Polio Day is coming up October 24th!  Have you planned a special event for your club?  Remember that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches all donations to PolioPlus at a rate of 2:1. That means if you contribute $10 it becomes $30. Wow! Just think of the impact your individual club can make!

Check out our World Polio event page for fundraising ideas, social media graphics and Pints for Polio templates.

Central Texas Food Bank

We are joining with South Austin Rotary Club's next service project

at the Central Texas Food Bank Warehouse.

Tuesday, October 31st from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (we will go out for lunch afterwards)

See info below from the Food Bank on how to register for the shift:

Each member of your group is required to create an account and sign up into your group reservation before arriving for your volunteer shift.  They can do this easily through your group’s unique link here: http://southaustinrotaryclub.cafb.volunteerhub.com/.

Please have your group members sign up into your reservation at least 7 days ahead so we have time to release the spots to the public if you don’t fill them. We will release any of your unfilled spots to the public for the October shift on 10/28 and for the December shift on 12/2.

Whether or not you personally plan to volunteer, you have group manager access and can see the status of your reserved spots, as well as a current list of who from your group has registered. This will make things easier for you in managing your group!

Upon registering, your volunteers will receive the info below and more via a confirmation and a reminder email. Please encourage them to read those emails and consider emphasizing this info in your communications to them as well:

  1. For safety reasons, volunteers who arrive more than 30 minutes late will not be allowed to join their group for the shift. If you think you may need to arrive late or leave early, please find a different shift that you can fully attend. We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early so volunteers have time to check in and be ready to start.

  2. Volunteers are required to wear a shirt with sleeves that cover the underarm and closed-toe shoes.

  3. Volunteers must meet our volunteer eligibility requirements listed here in order to participate in the volunteer shift. We will verbally confirm these eligibility requirements with participants onsite.

  4. Here is our general volunteer FAQ with additional helpful information.
