Marlene became interested in accounting when she took accounting classes in high school, and that interest became the basis for her career. She graduated with honors from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and started her professional career at a regional Pennsylvania CPA firm. She worked at that firm for two years, passed the CPA exam on her first attempt, and obtained her CPA license. Marlene then attended the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University on a full-ride assistantship. Her Master’s of Science in Management includes concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
After her marriage to Ron and birth of two daughters, Marlene returned to the world of Public Accounting. She worked in Tipton, Indiana from 1996 until 2006 when she & her family moved to Austin. She worked at two different firms in Austin until 2016, when she established her own firm with an office near Dripping Springs. The firm specializes in accounting and tax preparation for small businesses and individuals. Some industries served include consultants, rental property owners and clients involved in automotive sports related businesses.
Marlene joined the Rotary Club of Tipton, Indiana in September 2001, and held several offices in that club, including President. She joined the Westlake Rotary Club upon moving to Austin, and is a past president of the club. When she is not working or participating in Rotary, you can find her racing her 1990 Miata at local race tracks.
