Hurricane Laura was a deadly and damaging Category 4 Atlantic hurricane that tied the 1856 Last Island hurricane as the strongest hurricane on record to make landfall in the U.S. state of Louisiana, as measured by maximum sustained winds. The storm caused the deaths of at least 42 people in the U.S. and inflicted an estimated $10 billion in damages on southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas near the Gulf of Mexico.
Westlake Rotary, in conjunction with the Westlake High School Interact Club, is assisting the the collection of needed items for relief from this devastating storm. Please drop-off any donations from the list at our meeting this Friday at Las Palomas Mexican Restaurant. Items will be delivered this weekend.
