Weekly Meeting:Dr. Darla Jone

Dr. Darla Jones, President of Adults Independent and Motivated (AIM)

Darla is the president of AIM, a non-profit that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live remarkably independent lives. AIMers live in regular apartments, socialize, work, and contribute to their community, thanks to AIM's unique cooperative model—one of only two in the country.

Darla is a lifelong educator who earned a B.A. from Brown University, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins, and a doctorate from the University of Oregon. Darla dedicated 24 years to the Anchorage School District in Alaska, culminating her career there as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. She now runs her own Austin-based independent educational consulting business, My College Road Consulting.
